CRIME -- TERRORISM -- DISASTER

CRIME -- PREVENTION: Major cities have proven that the crime rate can be greatly reduced by lightening up high crime areas. Police officers including their cruisers must also have quick identification and high visibility.
See-Bak's vest presently use materials that are certified by ANSI/ISEA (American National Standards Institute, Inc.) for minium amounts of background fabrics and retroreflective materials for high-visibilty garments. Background fabrics must be fluorescent yellow-green, flourescent orange-red or flourescent red. Reflexite's Brillance Series Retroreflecrive trim is the reflective median used. These vest are the must highly visible vest on the market for both day and night usage.

TERRORISM -- AWARENESS: Although the crime features above can apply to terroism, awareness and planning is far more effective. The bib type undercover vest conceals the officers identity until necessary. This vest allows officers to easily approach their target without the chance of tipping their presence. Once there a simple tug on the flaps and these same officers can be easily identified as officers of the law. At the appropriate time the officer pulls down on the flaps to identify himself. The back side of the vests has the same features as the front side. The officer is easily identified by both the suspects and his own team officers. A safety measure that protects officers from shooting at each other. The reflective panel can be color coded.

DISASTER -- RESPONSE: In a crisis there is always fear, disruption of communication and panic. One of the most serious concerns of management during a crises is to regain control of the situation as quickly as possible. Corporate Security must develop Emergency Response Team (EMT) Reflective Vests which are lightweight, easy to store, easier to slip into and inexpensive. The vests must clearly designate the person in authority -- even in low light. No matter what language the person speaks, they can easily, quickly, identify an EMT member and follow the instructions or gestures. The vests leaves no doubt that an emergency crises exists and that the person wearing the vest is a member of the EMT. The vests must be designed to comply with other in-house safety/security programs
